Buta Nagar inmates facing acute water scarcity since this summer
12/30/2020 11:20:16 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 30: The acute water scarcity faced by Buta Nagar migrant camp inmates has evoked strong protests by camp inmates. Though the camp has been facing acute water scarcity from this Summer the PHE authorities have failed to improve the water supply in the camp despite the repeated requests by the camp inmates from time to time.
Though the camp inmates held several protests earlier also for improving water supply but to no avail as PHE Department deliberately ignored the problem putting hapless inmates to grave problem. Even the authorities to cater to the need of camp inmates failed to supply portable water to them.
According to camp inmates the motor supplying water at TRT Buta Nagar often develops snag and the Department has failed to take measures to replace it by a new motor to solve the problem once for all.
The camp inmates while expressing their ire against the PHE authorities have accused them of deliberately putting the inmates of TRT to problems and crisis. Left with no option the inmates men, women and children took to streets and held massive demonstration against the callousness of the Department. The protesting inmates are demanding improvement of water supply once for all failing which they will be forced to come to streets. The protesting camp inmates in an appeal to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Advisor incharge PHE sought their immediate intervention in the matter.
