| Post of SE PWD Rajouri lying vacant, new official not joined yet | | |

RAJOURI, Jan 7: The post of Superintending Engineer Public Works Department (PWD) Rajouri has been lying vacant and the new official posted in his place has not joined till date due to which the functioning of department in the district has been suffering a lot.
Sources told Early Times that the previous Superintending Engineer remained on the post only for 3-4 months and later was transferred to his home district due to which the working of the department has been suffering a lot.
They further said that the bills payment of executed works, tendering of new works is not being due to absence of Superintending Engineer, who is the authority in the district as the bills of division are passed by the SE. They further maintained new development works are not being issued as new SE has not joined till date.
"People have been facing problems for new works, particularly the contractors whose payments are getting delayed," they said.
When a concerned official was contacted by the Early Times, he admitted that there is some delay in joining a new Superintending Engineer in the district as the official has to come from Srinagar and due to some reasons. He assured that the official will join soon. |
