Govt teacher assaults car washer, caught on camera; FIR registered

KISHTWAR, Jan 20: In an incident, a poor car washer working at a service station at Kishtwar was assaulted by a government teacher after the former took more time in cleaning latter’s vehicle.
The whole incident was caught on CCTV camera following which police have registered an FIR against the guilty person who is still at large after committing the crime. As per the details available with Early Times, the car washer Farooq Ahmed Gujjar was beaten by a government teacher namely Yasir Rashid Wani, posted in Inderwal Education zone on the allegations that the car washer had taken more time in washing his car than the normal time.
The car washer though pledged that due to untimely electricity cut, there was delay but the accused didn’t get satisfied and beat him.
Speaking to Early Times, the victim said that all of sudden the accused approach towards him and first started abusing him and later launched a full-fledged assault on him, adding that before the people present at the spot intervened, the accused had thrashed him as a result of which he suffered an injury in his right eye. He said that had the people present at the spot did not have come to his rescue the accused might have killed him in a fit of anger.
Meanwhile, senior police official told the Early Times that the FIR has been registered in this regard at Police Station Kishtwar and inquiry has been initiated, adding that the police has also got the CCTV footage of the incident and will proceed in the case as per the law.
Eyewitness Mohammad Imran Shah termed the incident as horrific and demanded exemplary punishment for the accused person so that poor people like car washer Farooq Ahmed are not intimidated.
