Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 25: As infighting between two warring factions of the party have been intensified PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has deputed her loyalists to bring truce. The loyalists have started dialogue with leaders who have been annoyed after the announcement of new office bearers. Reliable sources told the Early Times that before visiting Jammu to bring peace between two fighting groups of the party Mehbooba wanted to create ground for dialogue between warring factions. “For the last three days loyalists of Mehbooba Mufti are holding talks with annoyed leaders who have raised a banner of revolt against appointment of new office bearers”, sources said and revealed that Mehbooba Mufti is likely to visit Jammu on January 27.
Sources said that during her stay at Jammu, Mehbooba would hold interactions with leaders of both the factions. “She is likely to meet all leaders individually to get feedback about reasons of intense infighting among leaders”, sources said and added that the party president is finding it difficult to take action against leaders of both the warring factions.
As reported earlier, on January 8, Surinder Choudhary removed some office bearers and appointed new office bearers of his choice. The sacked office bearers have been associated with the party since its formation.
On the very next day of these appointments, PDP leaders raised a banner of revolt against Surinder Choudhary for removing senior leaders and they shouted slogans against Choudhary. They also wrote a letter to party president Mehbooba Mufti for giving free hand to Surinder Choudhary to humiliate senior leaders.
