DC Kathua chairs DLRC, DLAC meeting to review progress of Banks

KATHUA, Feb 17: To review the performance of banks in key areas, District Development Commissioner Kathua Om Prakash today chaired District Level Review Committee/DLRC meeting, here at DC office complex.
At the outset, LDM Kathua Narain Singh presented the achievements under Annual Action Plan for the year 2020-21. He informed that Rs. 547.52 crore has been disbursed under priority sector and Rs. 635.21 crore under non-priority sector, thereby recording 57% achievement of ACP as on 31.12.2020.
Further, under social security schemes, 178580 accounts have been opened under PMJDY; 6072 individuals covered under Atal Pension Yojana; 49166 under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana; 93269 under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana and 18285 accounts opened under PMMY as on 31st December 2020.
Performance indicators like progress of CD ratio, cases under KCC, New KCC( Dairy, Poultry, Fisheries and Sheep Husbandry), PMEGP - KVIB / KVIC / DIC/NULM, NRLM Handloom/Handicraft, PMAY were reviewed in detail by the DDC with special emphasis on credit linkage of beneficiaries under these schemes.
The Chairman impressed upon the officers of banks and government departments to exercise empathy towards poverty stricken people, which is bound to ensure the achievement of their set targets. He desired that potential under Agri and allied activities be exploited fully to achieve the benchmark of 18%.
Chairman Om Prakash advised all banks to cover maximum number of persons with 100% penetration under social security schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and to issue RuPay Debit Cards to all eligible a/c holders.
He also advised to organize special awareness camps for social welfare schemes with the active participation of banks and departments. He further emphasized to the banks to achieve 100% targets of ACP 2020-21 by 31.03.2021.
The DDC emphasized upon the banks and departments to put all out efforts and establish Hiranagar as DIGI Block in the district and organize special campaigns in the area.
Chairman advised the banks not to enforce the applicants for obtention of collateral security wherever it is not necessary to be obtained.
