Gang of medical supply thieves busted in Rajouri

Rajouri, Apr 1: Jammu and Kashmir police here in Rajouri district have busted a gang of thieves involved in stealing medical supplies and recovered stolen property worth four lakh rupees from their possession.
Police in an official statement said that a man from Jawahar Nagar locality of Rajouri town lodged complaint before police that medical supplies have gone missing from his store in the area after which a case in FIR 145/2021 under sections 457, 380 IPC was registered and a team of police headed by SHO Rajouri, Insp Sameer Jillani assisted by SI Javed Manhas started the investigation. During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and statements of witnesses recorded. Based on leads developed, four persons were identified, tracked and apprehended - Azhar Mirza son of Mohammad Riaz resident of Badhoon Rajouri, Mohammad Yousuf son of Feroz Din resident of Dhanore Rajouri, Makhna son of Ghani resident of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri and one juvenile (name withheld). Based on their disclosure, stolen items worth four lakh rupees and cash to the tune of twenty thousand rupees have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is underway.
