Jammu, Apr 2: Residents of Gagore in Vijaypur blocked Jammu-Pathankote road on Friday over alleged failure of Police to arrest assailants accused of murderous attack on a youth in Vijaypur.
Hundreds of residents of Gagore and relatives of Sahil Choudhary son of Krishan Lal assembled on the vital raod and blocked it.
Sahil, according to the protesters, was attacked by local youths on 24/03/2021. “We have blocked the road to protest against the failure of Police to take action against the attackers who attempted to kill Sahil Choudhary when he was going to handover some money to his father Krishan Lal, a truck driver”, they said, adding that Sahil was abducted by some youths when was on his way to meet his father.
“Sahil was found in a pool of blood with multiple head injuries and fractures on both his legs.
He was hospitalised at Vijaypur Hospital. But Police did not arrest the accused”, they said, adding that Sahil's father met with an accident while returning home from Vijaypur Hospital and died.
The villagers and relatives today put the body of Krishan Lal on Jammu-Pathankote and blocked it for four hours. ADC Samba Suram Chand rushed on spot and pacified the protestors, who were demanding government job and adequate compensation for the victim's family.
The ADC Samba assured possible support to the victim family from the district administration.
