Jammu, Apr 14: To mark 130th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr B.R Ambedkar, various social, political and other organizations celebrated the occasion with great pomp and show .
Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar also known as Baba saheb Ambedkar was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables.
He was British India's Minister of Labour in Viceroy's Executive Council, a member of the Constituent Drafting committee, independent India's first Minister of Law and Justice, and considered the chief architect of the Constitution of India.
In this regard an impressive function was organised by Ravi Dass Sabha at Nowshera in which former MLC and chief spokesperson JKPCC Ravinder Sharma was the chief guest while several prominent personalities and councillors attended the function.
Rich tributes were paid to the father of the constitution in the large gathering by Ravi Dass Sabha Nowshera in which speakers remembered the contributions of Dr Ambedkar. ZEO Shamsher president of the sabha, Mahatma Inder Dass Chief organiser, Vijay Bakshi senior Congress leader, adv Gourav Prasher, Ch Amarjit, Sarwan Kumar, , Raj Kumar, Ch Nazir, Ashok Kumar, Puran pathi, Asha Chandan, Dr sheshpal , Vinay Bhardwaj and several others Paid rich tributes to the great leader.
Addressing the gathering Ravinder Sharma recalled the great contribution of Dr Ambedkar and said that the constitution of India is best document in the world which accommodates the aspirations and rights of all sections of multi cultural, milti lingual,multi religious and multi coloured Indian society and has stood the test of time in maintaining unity in diversity.
Guru Ravidass Mahasabha Ghou Manhasan too celebrated 130th birth anniversary of Baba saheb Dr B.R Ambedkar at Guru Ravidass Temple Ghou Manhasan. An impressive function was held and rich tributes were paid to Dr. B.R Ambedkar. Addressing the gathering President Gopal Dass stressed that we must follow the foot print of Baba saheb to meet the true values of life and remembered his great contributions in the framing of the Indian Constitution as Chairman of its drafting Committee and described him as the architect of Constitution of India, which is the best document in the World.
NSS units, Govt. P. G. College Rajouri, on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar organized an Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: The Maker of Modern India” in connection with series of events which are being organized in the College regarding Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava 2021 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence.
The competition aimed at giving an opportunity to the youth to come across various aspects of the philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Prof Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina, principal of the college, enlightened the young minds about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contribution to modern India. Twenty students participated among which Aftab Hussain student of BA Sem 5th bagged first position where as Anshika Sharma student of Sem 1st and Mushtaq Ahmed student of Sem 3rd were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively.

BJP’s unit of District Jammu West paid tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary while celebrating one of the party's six festivals. BJP celebrates Ambedkar’s birthday as “Samrasta Diwas”.
The program was held at District headquarters where Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and Former State President BJP Sat Sharma (CA) along with other leaders of the party paid tributes to Ambedkar. The program was held under the leadership of District President Munish Khajuria.
State BJP Executive Member Praduman Singh, District General Secretaries Advocate Rajesh Gupta & Advocate Karan Sharma, Mandal President Raveesh Mengi, Corporators Suneet Raina and Sunita Gupta and many others including District and Mandal Office Bearers were present. He advised youth to follow on the footsteps of Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Ambedkar's efforts to bring the deprived sections of society into the mainstream will remain an example for every generation. "I bow to the great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on Ambedkar Jayanti," he added.
Sat Sharma said that he was fondly referred to as Babasaheb, he was a jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination and supported the rights of women and workers.
Paying glowing tributes to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana today said described the architect of the Constitution of India as a great visionary, saying his birth anniversary should be observed as Democracy Day in view of his immense contribution in evolving the democratic setup in the country.
“The people will always remember Baba Saheb for giving the country best Constitution of the world”, Mr Rana said while leading the party leaders and workers in paying tributes to Baba Saheb on his birth anniversary at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning.
Babu Ram Paul, Swarn Lata, Kashmir Singh and Vijay Lochan also paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb on his birth anniversary.
Rana said that adhering to the principles of the Constitution and ensuring the fruits of democracy to reach all would be best and befitting tribute to the great luminary. He said the ideology of the legendary leader is humane, which is needed to be emulated. “Let us fulfill his dream by creating a society based on equality and social justice”, he added.
Throwing light on various facets of the life and struggle of Dr B R Ambedkar, Lochan said his unflinching commitment towards social justice brought about a revolutionary transformation in Indian social order and helped in carving a society based on equality, justice and opportunities for all.
Dulhasti Power Station celebrated 130th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on 14 April 2021. On this occasion a program was organized in the field hostel premises of the power station. Shri Nirmal Singh, General Manager (in-charge), Dulhasti Power Station paid floral tributes to the photo of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Further, Dr. Nisha Sharma, General Manager (Medical Services), Shri R.N. Sharma, General Manager (Civil) and Shri Surendra Kumar Mishra, General Manager (Electrical) along with all the senior officers also paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb.
Addressing the officials on the occasion, the General Manager (in-charge) highlighted the role of Baba Saheb in nation building and framing the constitution. Moreover, he urged all the officers to take inspiration from the life of Baba Saheb and move forward in life by following the principles and path shown by him. Moreover, Shri Surendra Kumar Mishra, General Manager (Electrical), Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Senior Manager (Finance) and Shri Diwakar Prasad Awadhiya, Senior Manager (IT) & Project Vigilance Officer also Highlighted Baba Saheb's life's struggles, principles and his contribution in framing the Constitution.
On this occasion, G.C. Sinha, Deputy General Manager (Electrical), Bidya Dhar Mohrana, Deputy General Manager (Electrical), Gursharan Singh, Deputy General Manager (Electrical), Vidya Nand Das, Deputy General Manager (IT), Sanjay Kumar Singh, Senior Manager (Finance) and Ashok Kumar Dhanwal, Senior Manager (HR) and other senior officers were remain present.
BJP Jammu & Kashmir celebrated Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti as Samrasta Diwas wherein its leaders organized and participated in various Sewa programmes. The programmes were organized at booth level by the party leaders and at the prominent places and Chowks across the region.
Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP President also addressed the workers of party’s SC Morcha at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, while he earlier addressed a massive gathering and garlanded the statue of Baba Saheb at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Chowk (Panama Chowk), Jammu.
Ravinder Raina paid tributes to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution on the occasion and said that his ideas and ideals have taught way of life to all the sections of society. He said that the Nation will always be indebted for his contributions.
Conferred with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, Baba Saheb will continue to be a role model for the millions for centuries to come. He said that it was a pity that a person with such a strong persona was not given due recognition by earlier Congress led governments and said that BJP has ensured that contributions of Baba Saheb are remembered at the booth level.
Ashok Kaul, J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) led the programmes on Samrasta Diwas in Kashmir, termed Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as the iconic social revolutionary of modern times who continued his mission of struggle throughout his life. Speaking on his life, Raina said that born on April 14, 1891, Baba Saheb was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination towards every oppressed class.
Nations Development Association (NDA) also paid rich tribute to founding Father of Indian Constitution, Bharat Rattan Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 130th birth anniversary today at BSSK High School Kalu Chak, Jammu.
Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA) Sushil Singh Charak described Dr. B.R Ambedkar as symbol of knowledge who dedicated his life in working for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. Sushil Singh Charak said that Dr. B.R Ambedkar also popularly known as Baba Sahib was an Indian Jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement, supported the rights of the women andlabor class and also campaigned against the social discrimination against untouchables/Dalits.
Principal BSSK High School Kalu Chak, Jammu Anju Bakshi further reiterated that on this day we should vouch for indulging of self introspection as a nation to ascertain where India stands on the ladder of prosperity and development as envisioned by Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
