Urdu poetry book “Aahatein” authored by Ashok Paras released

JAMMU, Apr 20: In a well organized function held at Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground Jammu, the first Urdu poetry book of Ashok Kumar Sharma Paras entitled “Aahatein” was released today.
Dr S D Singh Jamwal, Addl DGP Security J&K was chief guest on the occasion, while S Afhadul Mujtaba, Member J&K Public Service Commission and Dr Mohd Reyaz Ahmed, Head of Urdu Department Jammu University were guests of honour.
Sohail Kazmi, veteran journalist was special guest and Dr Arvinder Singh Aman, Addl Secretary JAKAACL presided over the function. A number of poets, literary personalities and prominent citizens of Jammu attended in the function.
In his introductory address, author of the book Ashok Kumar Sharma Paras, presented a detailed introduction of the book which comprises of a total number of 130 Ghazals. By profession, he is Inspector in J&K Police and at present posted at Police Academy Udhampur. He said that due to professional engagements, he could rarely attend the mushairas but was happy to ensure that he could maintain his poetic instinct. Published by Educational Publishing House New Delhi, the book “Aahatein” is available at Qasmi Kutab Khana Khatikan Talab Jammu, Meezan Publishers & Booksellers, Batmaloo Srinagar and Tak Publishers & Booksellers, Doda. It will also be available online through amazon in next few days.
During the function, two papers giving a critical review of the book were read over one each by Fozia Mughal Zia, a prominent educationist and poetess and Dr Shahnawaz Choudhary, Cultural Officer J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
In his address, the chief guest Dr S. D. Singh Jamwal, ADGP Security, appreciated the author of the book “Aahatein” Paras as an efficient officer of J&K Police force who has made the name of J&K Police shine with his creative writings. He also mentioned that Ashok Paras has recently authored the Theme song of J&K Police Academy Udhampur which was released about two months back.
