| GDC Khour organizes two day online workshop on Yoga | | |

Jammu, June 23: To celebrate “7th International Yoga Day 2021” Department of Sports & Physical Education, Govt. Degree College Khour in collaboration with Department of Yoga, Central University of Jammu organized a Two-Day workshop on the theme “Yoga for well being”. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Prof. Hans Raj Principal of the College, in his inaugural speech he emphasized that yoga helps in maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health of a person. He also advised the participants to make yoga a routine in their life for staying fit against pandemic like Covid-19.
Dr. Ranjana Verma and Dr. Shambu Ram, faculty members of Yoga department, Central University of Jammu were the resource persons. On Day-1 of the workshop a lecture and a practical session was conducted on the topic “Role of yoga during Covid-19” by Dr. Ranjana Verma. On Day-2, a theoretical session was conducted by Dr. Shambu Ram on the topic “Need and necessity of Yoga in present perspective” and practical session was conducted by Dr. Ranjana Verma as per “Common Yoga Protocol” of Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India to celebrate 7th International Yoga Day 2021.
Principal of the College along with staff members, students of the College and of other institutions participated in the workshop through online mode. The workshop was organized by Prof Goutam Sharma and Prof Suresh Kumar faculty members of Department of Sports and Physical Education. |
