Grenade attack in Baramulla, 4 CRPF men, civilian injured

BARAMULLA, July 30: Four paramilitary CRPF personnel including an ASI and a civilian were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade on CRPF party at Khanpora Bridge in this north Kashmir district on Friday.
A senior Police officer said that militants attacked by lobbing a grenade towards CRPF party at Khanpora Bridge in which four CRPF personnel's and a civilian received splinter injuries.
However sources said that,it was Friday and on routine basis CRPF and police remains vigilant on Khanpora bridge as part of their duty, and during some suspicious movements they checks up the persons or vehicle's that passes from there.
"Now who knows who is passing from there and in sudden unidentified person or persons lobbed a grenade on security forces that were deployed at Khanpora bridge of Baramulla town", said sources.
In this unfortunate incident, four CRPF personnel were injured and later they were shifted to nearby hospital for medical treatment, sources informed.
Meanwhile soon after the grenade attack, the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers reached the spot to take access of the situation, adding the whole area was cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants, said said.
