Jammu, Sept 10: There is no need to worry to the poor and the downtrodden amid ongoing pandemic about their food as BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured food for them at least upto festive season. It was stated by Hon’ble Deputy Mayor JMC, Adv. Purnima Sharma while distributing free ration to the beneficiaries of ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) at Ward No-1, Panjtirthi, Jammu in the presence of District President Vinay Gupta and Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and State Secretary BJP JKUT, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, while
While speaking on the occasion Deputy Mayor JMC, Adv. Purnima Sharma, said that the Government of India led by Narendra Modi as Prime Minister keeping in mind the sufferings of the poor had launched this unique poor-friendly scheme which has benefitted 80 crore families of the nation.
She said that the government is providing free ration among the poor families and now at least these families have not to worry about their food. She further said that it is the unique initiative of the government and urged upon the party workers to ensure its proper implementation. She told the gathering that around 500 families of her Ward No-1 have been benefitted by this scheme.
While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that the COVID pandemic has left many people jobless and the poor were unable to earn their livelihood following frequent lockdowns which were imposed to contain the spread of the virus. He said that yet the danger in hanging over our heads and there is every apprehension that we will witness another lockdown if we will not follow appropriate Covid behavior like wearing mask, maintaining social distancing, frequent hand washing etc. He said that many developed countries are in worst phases with the entry of new Delta Variant of the COVID strain and it is our duty to keep this virus away.
