NOPRUF demands restoration of OPS for all govt employees
9/30/2021 10:26:23 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 30: National Old Pension Restoration United Front (NOPRUF) Jammu and Kashmir has demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme for all government employees.
Addressing a press conference here today at Press Club of Jammu, the president of NOPRUF, Gulzabir Daing urged the governments at the centre and the UT to restore Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees in order to secure their post retirement life.
Daing warmly welcomed all the organizations who joined their hands with NOPRUF and have extended full support to the organization.
He said, "I appeal UT government of J&K and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take effective steps to restore OPS".
He said that under the NPS (New Pension Scheme) employees who have retired from their services are getting just one or two thousand rupees as their monthly pension where as the people at the helm of affairs are getting a sound pension after retirement which is totally a double standard on the part of government.
He said that under NPS an employee's post retirement life is not secured at all. "We the representatives of all the organizations have assembled here in order to aware the people of nation as well as UT that this is a total injustice with government employees," he added.
Daing informed that NOPRUF is strengthening its organization to launch a mega agitation in future throughout UT if the government failed to fulfill the legitimate demand of NPS employees", he added.
The leaders of different employees' organizations from across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir who recently joined NOPRUF were also present in the press conference including Dr Rakish Chib (Jammu University Non-Teaching Association), Kamal Deep Singh (Provincial President SKUAST Jammu), Jyoti Babdral (Vice President KGBV), Mrignayani (UT President All Teachers Association) Dheeraj Salaria (Vice President Rehbar-e-Khel) and others. All the leaders supported the demand raised by Daing and sought restoration of the OPS.
