BYS celebrates Yog Divas

JAMMU, Oct 2: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) celebrates Gandhi Jyanti every year as Yog Divas. This year being 55th Yog Divas, Sansthan celebrated it with focus on youth. Yog Divas was celebrated at 12 different locations which include Udhampur, Janipur, Zanana Park, Digiana, Miran Sahib, RS Pura, Talab Tillo, Bishnah, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Roop Nagar. ID Soni, renowned educationist was the Chief Guest at Janipur whereas Purnima Sharma, DyMayor, JMC was the Chief Guest at Zanna Park, and Dr JP Sharma Director Research SKUAST was chief guest at Digiana Park. Similarly prominent educationist and social activists presided over other functions. Thousands of men and women and students participated in these programmes. ID Soni, while speaking on the occasion informed that Yog is important for men, women and children irrespective of the age.
Bhartiya Yog Sansthan also celebrated yoga day in virtual mode from its Headquarter Rohini Delhi, where online yoga sadhna was demonstrated by the students of Govt Higher Secondary School Parnala, Kathua and Happy Model Higher Secondary School Udhampur. This online programme was watched by lakhs of yog lovers and students from all over the country and abroad.
On this occasion Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu was the chief guest.
