DLSA Doda holds awareness program on Child Rights, Rights of Senior Citizens

DODA, Oct 14: District Legal Services Authority, Doda, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare department organised an awareness campaign on the Child Rights and Rights of Senior Citizens at Nari Niketan, here today.
Organised in connection with the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the campaign was held under the guidance of the DLSA Chairman.
The participants of the programmes included Secretary DLSA, District Social Welfare Officer, inmates of Nari Niketan, senior citizens, Officials of One Stop Centre, Childline Project, Mahila Shakti Kendra, ICDS and others.
The Resource Persons highlighted the issues faced by the Children and deliberated on the Protection of Children and their Legal Rights. Besides, the participants were made aware about various Welfare Schemes pertaining to senior citizens.
The Secretary DLSA, while thanking the senior citizens and the other participants, threw light on the Rights of the Senior Citizens in the society and stressed upon the need to safeguard all basic rights which are vital to a human life especially to Senior Citizens.
