Tax Bar Association raises issues of GST & Income Tax

JAMMU, Nov 30: Tax Bar Association Jammu today attended one day “outreach programme and interactive session” organized by Income Tax Department & Central GST Department to interact with professionals and stakeholders.
Mona Singh, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu, Mahesh Kumar Rustogi, Principal Commissioner, Central GST Jammu along with other officers from Income Tax as well as Central GST Department were present during the programme.
Tax Bar Association Jammu office bearers who attended the programme include Senior Vice President, Advocate Vikram Dubey, General Secretary, Advocate Dheeraj Bhasin and Joint Secretary–cum-Treasurer Advocate Ishant Gupta.
Advocate Dheeraj presented before the august gathering, the issues related to income tax whereas Advocate Ishant presented the issues related to GST and also handed over a written memorandum to Principal Commissioner, Central GST Jammu.
Advocate Dheeraj Bhasin highlighted some of the major issues faced under Income Tax Act especially regarding the glitches faced after the launching of new Income Tax Web Portal concerning about digital signatures, E-proceedings, uploading and downloading of forms and more importantly stressed upon to extend the dates for filing returns and other compliance on the new portal, keeping in view the numerous difficulties and glitches being faced by the assesses.
Advocate Ishant highlighted some of the major issues faced under GST Act and said that it is the need of the hour to launch mechanism for the revision of returns, simplification of GSTR-4 annual filing related to composition dealer, matching of ITC shall be done on half yearly or yearly basis and the time limit for availing of ITC should be taken as due date of annual return and actual date of filing the annual return whichever is earlier, establishment of GST tribunals, extension of time limit for revocation of suo-moto cancellation of registrations, last but not the least more importantly grant new restoration under GST on fast track basis.
