Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 29: As the. agitation to seek relocation of Kashmiri Pandit employees posted in the Valley entered 79th day on Friday, the protesting employees said that process to relocate them has commenced.
In a statement they said that the employees have seen some light as the government has issued orders in favour of five I/C Assistant Engineers who have been recently deputed to Jammu by PWD(R&B) Division Kashmir .
"The KP employees see it as welcome step and extend their gratitude towards UT administration for finding a suitable way against Draconian Bond of S.R.O 412 of 2009 which is signed by every employee prior to their joining.
The employees said that they are in good hopes after these orders and mentioned that their agitation will continue till last employee on protest site gets relocated or attached/deployed to RC office Jammu or any other office in Jammu till security conditions for religious minority people becomes conducive in the Valley," the statement said.
It said, "Our protest erupted on 12 May 2022 in Kashmir Valley after target killing of our colleague late Rahul Bhat at his working place Tehsil Office Chadoora Budgam, Kashmir . Suddenly target killings of religious minorities in valley got intensified by Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism ."
"The Kashmiri Pandit Employees working in valley fled from the Valley because of fear-psychosis and security concerns as 3800 families out of 5000 families of Kashmiri Pandits who were provided jobs under Return & Rehabilitation Scheme are living on rental basis .To raise our genuine demands of being in exile we started indefinite agitation from 13.06.2022 at Relief Commissioners Office Jammu," it said.
" We accepted the jobs because of two fundamental reasons primarily one due to adverse economic conditions of displaced community living in exile from last 3 decades and secondly we wanted to contribute to the cause of nation building ,most of us joined after 2014 as we have tremendous belief in the able leadership of Honourable Prime Minister but we feel as if we have been abandoned by our leadership."
"In this context whole Kashmiri Pandit employees working in valley and KP community therefore request Honourable Prime Minister of India, Honourable Home Minister of India and Honourable L.G of JK Union Territory to address our demands on priority,"
"Relocate us outside Valley or deploy/attach us in the Relief Commissioners Office Jammu in order to avoid further killings n the Valley. Revoke unconstitutional bond signed by employees under S.R.O 412 which emphasizes bonded labour. Delinking of Rehabilitation from the PM Package and declare it as economic package till all conditions of Retrun & Rehablitation plans are met. "
"Rehabilitate us in the Valley when whole community is rehabilitated in the Valley to protect our right to equality in all respects," it added.
"Ensure rules of transfers & promotions of PM package employees at par with general employees of Union Territory of J&K.
Revoke S.O 194 for PM Package Employees as major youths are paying huge rents in valley which makes economical adverse condition to feed their families. Standing Instruction must be passed immediately by Administrative Department to all D.D.O'S of Valley to release Salaries of all PM /Non-PM Package employees and not to force an employee to join duties in the Valley / not to relieve these employees without their physical appearance, till dialogues between Government and employees reaches to a logical conclusion," the statement added.
