Secretary reviews working of Mining, ARI & Trainings Departments

Jammu, July 30: Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Mining and ARI & Trainings Departments today held extensive meetings for reviewing the performance and functioning of these two important departments. The twin meetings were held in sequence in which all HODs and officers of the respective departments participated.
During the review meeting of Mining Department, the working of department was analysed at length by Secretary Mining, Amit Sharma wherein it was directed that the daily progress on the working and seizure / penalties should be shared with the Administrative Department on a regular basis. Similar directions were given to J&K Minerals Corporation to send daily report on work done and accomplishments made. Secretary further directed that all legal and RTI cases must be dealt with on top priority basis and data sharing in this behalf should happen on a weekly basis.
Secretary Amit Sharma lauded the efforts of Geology & Mining Directorate during the review meeting towards finalising the process for launch of e-Challan services in a record time. He further disclosed that this would be unique G2B2C initiative as it would give an level playing field and an opportunity to public for purchasing RBM and related construction material through this online portal with the usage of e-Marketplace platform like Amazon and Flipkart giving ample choice and variety to buyers and sellers in this sector. Also, it shall act as a game changer for bringing transparency, precision and swiftness in the working of Mining Department.
In the next review meeting, all the officers and HODs of Administrative Reforms, Inspections and Trainings Department including General Managers of both Government Presses, Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) gave the details of the progress made in respective areas with the ARI & Trainings Secretary Amit Sharma. They were directed to monitor it on a daily basis and sharing same with administrative department.
Besides, Amit Sharma directed that the ongoing process of Inspections in all Government Offices of the UT should be given total impetus for finding out the status of online services, RAS integration, Aadhaar Authentication and finding public satisfaction about availing these services. He further informed that as per the basic mandate of department, signing of an MoU with National Institute of Smart Government (NISG) is at the final stages after which officers and officials working in all the departments of the UT shall be given online/virtual training on a regular basis which is the need of the hour.
