Educational Institutions host series of activities during Digital Week

JAMMU, July 31: The Educational Institutions across Jammu Division buzzed with activities organised as part of the Digital J&K Week observed across the Union Territory under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav- to mark 75 glorious years of India’s Independence. PSPS Government PG College for Women: The Department of Computer Applications, PSPS Government PG College for Women celebrated the “DIGITAL J&K WEEK 2022” from 25th of July to 30th July 2022. The main aim of this weeklong IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign was to spread awareness among students and faculty members regarding digital initiatives taken up by Government of J&K (UT) towards establishment of e-Governance with digital solutions, Citizen Engagement through J&K My Government platform and addressing the citizen grievance and evolve an effective feedback mechanism. On the first day of the Programme, a poster making competition was organised on the theme “Digital Services of Government of J&K (UT)” in which twenty-seven students actively participated.
In the competition Sheetal bagged 1st position, Deepali and Tina bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
On July 28, a Quiz Competition was organized on the Digital Services of Govt. of J&K (UT) in which five teams of 3 students each participated. The team C comprising Riya, Navdeep and Eisha was the winner of the event.
On 29th July, a detailed lecture was organized in the Smart Classroom of the College on the theme “Use of Umang App for digital services.”
Prof. Rohit Gupta, H.O.D (Computer Applications) was the speaker. 70 Students and 20 faculty members of the College attended the Programme.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, the Principal highlighted the benefits of digitization of services and e-governance on mobile for the welfare of all. She also congratulated the Department of Computer Applications for successfully celebrating the Digital J&K Week 2022. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rahul Sharma, H.O.D (Biotechnology).
GCW UDHAMPUR: Technical Committee in collaboration with Student welfare committee celebrated Digital week in Government College For Women(GCW), Udhampurw.e.f. 25th July 2022 to 30th July 2022.
A weeklong series of activities were conducted under the guidance and supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma.
From 25th July 2022 to 27th July 2022, the College participated in Digi-Mela held at Rivayat Banquet Hall, Udhampur where online initiatives like E-Library and PMSSS were showcased. Besides this, the work profiles performed online by the College were highlighted like BEAMS, PFMS,GeM, CPIS, JK Payment system.
The students of the College also visited the Digi-Mela on 27th July led by Dr.Preeti Sharma and Dr.Joshina Jamwal.
The faculty members Dr.Mool Raj (HOD Urdu Dept and Nodal Officer PMSSS), Arun Gupta (Librarian) Sarika Mahajan (Assistant Professor in Electronics and Convener Technical Committee), Paramjit Singh (HOD Computer Applications), Mohan Galgotra (HOD Education), Roopa (Assistant Professor in Education) and Shama(HOD Dogri) represented the college in Digi-Mela.
A demonstration cum registration drive for “DIGILOCKER” was conducted on 28th and 29th July 2022 in which the students were made aware about the use and application of digital initiative “DIGILOCKER”. The HOD Dept. of Computer Applications Mr. Paramjit Singh demonstrated the students about creating an account on DIGILOCKER. About sixty students attended the demonstration session in two consecutive days, the students were assisted by the members of the Technical Committee.
