Pak-Afghan relation turns bitter
9/15/2022 10:53:37 PM

Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are turning bitter as the Taliban are not allowing the Pakistan Army to establish an upper hand in the region.
Recently, three Pakistani soldiers were killed in a firing by Afghan soldiers near Durand line when Pak soldiers tried to construct a post near the border. According to Deputy Spokesperson of Afghanistan Bilal Karimi, the clashes took place in the Dand Patan area in Afghanistan’s Paktia province. Karimi said on Twitter that military facilities, “in principle”, should not be built close to the Durand Line. It was reported a day earlier that at least three Pakistani soldiers were killed when, the Pak Army said, the Taliban opened fire in the latest incident that is likely to complicate the relationship between Islamabad and Kabul.
Statements emanating from both the sides are an indication that there is no bonhomie between Pakistan and Afghanistan and Pakistan is no longer in a position to dictate terms to the regime led by Taliban. Afghanis who till the recent past were Mujahideen for Pakistanis have turned into terrorists.
After Taliban has taken over the reins of Afghanistan, Pakistan has been making desperate attempts to woo Afghanis to help them to keep the terrorism alive but Taliban seem least interested in what Pakistan is doing. In order to build pressure, Pakistan is now resorting to different tactics near the Durand Line but Afghanis have been responding in a befitting manner.
No one, including Afghanistan, wants to be a part of what Pakistan is doing. Entire world has realized that Pakistan is a breeding ground for terror and it’s no point supporting the country which has turned terrorism into its state policy.
Afghanistan becoming hostile towards Pakistan is not good news for its rulers and the army. If Pakistan keeps on poking its nose into the affairs of Afghanis it will have to pay a heavy price for it. Pakistan is a poor country which is already grappling with the number of issues. It needs to pay attention towards the issues that are confronting its own people rather than meddling into the affairs of the neighbouring countries.
