Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 25: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir Unit's 40th Chhari Yatra today left from the famous Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu in the form of a colourful procession amid drum beats with a huge crowd of devotees singing Bhajans in praise and glory of Maa Bhagwati, for having the first Darshan at Kol Kandoli Temple
The entire environment reverberated with slogans “Jai Mata Di’ raised vociferously by the devotees in honour of Mother Goddess. It is pertinent to mention here that before commencing the Yatra procession the devotees including the Shiv Sena party leaders worshipped the ‘Akhand Jyoti’ and the ‘Chhari Mubarak’ as per the traditional rituals. Thereafter the procession passed through Vikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, Purani Mandi and Parade before boarding the buses which proceeded to Kol Kandoli where the Mata Vaishno Devi used to live in the form of Kanjak. Soon after arriving at Kol Kandoli the devotees along with the Shiv Sainiks had the first Darshan of Mother Goddess paying obeisance at the holy Darbar. A Vishal Bhandara was also organized at Kol Kandoli after which they left for the abode of Mata Vaishno Devi in beautiful Trikuta Hills.
Addressing media persons here today, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit Manish Sahni informed that ‘Charri Puja’ shall be held in the holy cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji on the first day of Navratra besides the ‘Darshan’ of Maa Bhagwati at the sacrum sacrosanct of the Shrine. He said that the programme shall be carried out as per the traditional practice followed since Shiv Sena commenced this ritual during Navaratras every year.
Sahni said that the main objective of bringing this Yatra to Kol Kandoli temple is to restore the Yatra as per the mythological beliefs as the traditional route got changed over a period of time due to the development of new roads and rail route as a result of which the first Darshan at Kol Kandoli Temple got skipped during the past few years Halfway through the journey.
Sahni said that along with Jammu and Kashmir, senior party leaders and Shiv Sainiks from Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh were fortunate enough to have Darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi and receive Blessings. He said that he prayed for bestowing wisdom to the rebels of Shiv Sena within and outside.
The Shiv Sena chief stated that before the first auspicious Navratra, Chhari Pujan will be done in the holy cave of Maa Vaishno Devi with full rituals and daily till ninth day. He said that Akhand Jyoti and Chhari Poojan will continue at the Shiv Sena Bhawan Jammu where Kanjak Poojan will also be done and finally the Holy Saakh immersion shall be done with full sanctity on the ninth Navratra.
