Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 4: Observing that music transcends all boundaries, touches souls and creates an aura free from myopic tendencies, Senior BJP leader Mr Devender Singh Rana today lauded the efforts being made by the Jammu based artists in promoting the rich Dogra art and culture through various mediums over the decades.
"True that music knows no boundaries but when it comes to Dogri folklores, these bind the people in unique chord and generate harmony in the society", Devender Rana said while releasing two albums 'Kikre Gi Bhoor Paya (Folk Geet) and Tera Hi Om Naam Hai, sung by Sapna and composed by Rakesh Anand and Surinder Singh Manhas here this afternoon.
Rana said the young artists deserve all the encouragement by the organizations associated with promotion of art and culture besides, more importantly, the music loving public, who have always the quest for something new and unique to be presented to them. The young artist deserves to be encouraged by providing them with an appropriate platform to showcase her talent on a bigger canvas. He said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent but the only need is to identify and polish it by experts in the field.
He complimented the composers and the singer for their relentless efforts in promoting art and culture in this part of the country, hoping that this will inspire the young and budding artists to come forward and make a mark in the field of music, not only in the land of legendary K. L Sehgal and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma but across the country. He recalled the contribution of artists, writers and composers from the Duggarland in the cultural milieu of India.
Rana also hoped that the albums would be received well by the music lovers, who keep craving for something new, something unique and something absorbing their souls and minds. He hoped that these albums would meet their expectations.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Nirbhay Slathia, Vivek Gupta and Pankaj Malhotra.
