JAMMU, Mar 10: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today appealed the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas.
He said that Coalition Government is making concerted efforts to fulfil the aspirations of the people in providing all basic amenities at their doorsteps. The Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for various lanes and drains in Ward No. 2 at Narwal Pain, which will cost of Rs. 15 lakh. Bhalla said the Government was determined to eradicate poverty, unemployment and illiteracy from the State and in this context a series of measures have been initiated. He said the Government has prioritized road connectivity, education, health, power and PHE sectors and hoped that the day was not far when State would achieve self-sufficiency on all fronts.
He appealed the people to extend full cooperation to the Government in completing the ongoing development projects within stipulated time frame.
The Minister said that in 14 months tenure of the Coalition Government, unprecedented development has been achieved in every sector, particularly in the remote areas of the State.
Earlier, the slab work over 150 meter nallah at Trikuta Nagar near main market started in the presence of the Minister, for which Rs. 4 lakh have been earmarked. He said the Government is making all out efforts to develop all the edge areas of Ranbir Canal and open spaces along nallah as parks and walkways.
He urged the inhabitants not to dump household garbage on the banks of the canal and nallahs and instead use dustbins and ensure proper disposal.
