Wrap up meeting of officials with PC today

JAMMU, Mar 10: The Secretaries of nearly all the departments of the J&K government had a marathon round of meetings with the authorities in Planning COmmission during which they presented their cases well in terms of requirement of funds for expenditures on various fronts. The wrap up meeting is however scheduled for tomorrow which will pave way for a final meeting between the CHief Minister Omar Abdullah and Finance Minister AR Rather with the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission for finalisation of the plan size for J&K state.
Sources said the meeting today augured well in so far as the presentation of the senior officers, primarily the Secretaries made a strong and meaningful presentation with the authorities in the Planning Commission in pleading their requirements. Tomorrow's meeting will be led by the Chief Secretary and senior officers of the Planning Department of the state. Since it will be final meeting at the level of officials , it will also amount to wrapping up all the discussions and deliberations before finalistaion of plan at the highest level meeting. The dates of this meeting have not been confirmed.
"We will get broad hints about the plan in tomorrow's wrap up meeting...however we cannot divulge anything before the high level meeting athe level of Chief Minister and Deputy Chairman of PC takes place", said a senior officer adding that it was in tomorrow's meeting the PC may give the dates of high level meeting.Most likely it will be held in the month of March only, he added.The state government, meanwhile will go for presentation of its annual budget on March 12, Friday.The budget will be presneted without any idea of plan size the government may get, even as the latter has given its projections to the PC in commensurate with its expenditures during the next financial year.
