64th Independence Day celebrated across state with patriotic zeal

Jammu, Aug 15: Like other parts of India in Jammu today Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotism across the region.
National Conference celebrated Independence Day at its Party HQ under the chairmanship of Ratan Lal Gupta Provisional President.Tri-color was hoisted by Gupta in the presence of large number of senior National Conference Leaders and workers.
While addressing the function Gupta said that India got freedom under the leadership late Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation through non violence movement, principled movement got the world wide support and national leader like Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subash Chander Bose, Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah and others.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) celebrated the 64th Independent day with great zeal and enthusiasm in the office premises at Railhead Complex Panama Chowk Jammu. The National Flag was hoisted by M.K Bhat, Senior Superintendent of police, CBI Jammu and took salute from D-Coy of 33 Bn CRPF. It was followed by singing of national anthem by children and staff members of CBI.
Addressing the staff members after unfurling the tricolor, Shri M.K Bhat urged investigating officers of CBI to be more professional and hardworker as people in our society have high hopes from CBI. Among others, Shri K.L Raina, Addl SP CBI, Radhey Shyam, Ashok Kalra, R.C Dogra, R.S Sodhi, BB Sharma and Kamal Sangra, all investigating officers, were present on the occasion along with their families.
Welfare committee ward no 8 Rehari/ Dogra Hall today celebrated 64th Independence day with great patriotic zeal and national fervor at Dogra Hall in whivh Ex Corporator, Chairman of the welfare Committee , ND Rajwal was the chief guest on the occasion unfurled the national flag . He on the occasion congratulated the people on this auspicious day and recalled the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the freedom of India.
64th Independence Day was jointly celebrated by Shri Guru Nabha Das Trust and All J&K Mahasha Sadar sabha headed by Vir Chand Ex MLC as its chairman and Punjab Singh as the chief convenor o f the Sabha.
Vir Chand was the chief guest on this auspicious event and unfurled the national flag and took salute followed by the National Anthem and cultural items.
NHPC has celebrated 64th Independece Day in his office of the Executive Engineer (Region-I) Jammu at Railway Siding Complex. A large number of employees and CISF personnel participated. On this occasion, Jatinder Singh, Executive Director hoisted the tricolor. The function concluded with distribution of sweets among the employees.
The Indian National Trade Union Congress ( INTUC) has celebrated 64th Independence day with great zeal and patriotism like past in the past at PHE pumping station sub division , company bagh where Chief Engineer PHE Dalip Baskhi hoisted the national flag.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha today celebrated Independence day with patriotic fervor at Mahajan Bhawan where senior vice president chander Mohan Gupta along with Amarnath Gupta , Balkrishan Gupta , MM Gupta , Satish gupta and Dr Sudesh Gupta General secretary hosited the national flag to mark the occasion .
Public Helath Engineering ( PHE) employees welfare association too celebrated the day by orgainsing the function at PHE Rural Division complex BC Road where Dilip Bakshi , Chief Engineer was the chief guest and SK Kapoor Supt Engr was the guest of honor on the occasion .
On the eve of 64th Independence day Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari vIce Chairman of the State Advisory Board for Dev of Pahari speaking people hoisted the national flag at Pahari Hostel Shastri Nagar .
J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys & Girls celebrated 64th Independence Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The students, teaching faculty and a good number of parents attended the function, besides members of Kendra Management Body. J.K.Vaid, General Secretary, hoisted the Tricolour National Flag and led the assembly in the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana sung in unison with full vigour. This was followed by a short address to the gathering by him, congratulating all on the Independence Day. The celebrations culminated with distribution of sweets.
To celebrate the 64th Independence Day of the country, State central Labour Union organised a flag hosting ceremony under the leadership of its president Naar Singh.
APPLE KIDS International pre School, Gandhi Nagar, celebrated 64th Independence Day amid cheers of kids, staff and management in the school premises. The function was started by hoisting the tricolor flag followed by active participation of toddlers.Patriotic songs were the highlight of the day.The program was a good blend of various cultural dances and patriotic songs. Refreshment was also distributed among the students.
Silver Bell High School Paloura today celebrated Independence Day in which the students and staff members participated Principal of the school, Vijay Laxmi Dutta unfurled the National flag. She on the occasion threw light on the importance of this day.
Dogra Higher Sec. School Shastrinagar, Jammu celebrated the Independence Day on 15th August 2010 with great patriotic/religious fervor and gaiety. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak ws the chief guest, besides, hoisting tricolor, various cultural items were presented by the student on the occasion.
The Chief Guest Gambhir Dev Singh Charak unfurled the National Flag and National Anthem was presented by the students. A small but impressive programme was held in the school premises. The students presented small skits and patriotic songs which was applauded by the audience present there.
Independence Day celebrations were observed with great enthusiasm and gaiety in Dogra Sadar Sabha complex Jammu on morning of 15th August, 2010. Gulchain Singh Charak President Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K unfurled the National Flag in the accompaniment of National enthem sung by the students of Jyoti Public School and Public Patriotic songs were also recited on the occasion.
Charak while recounting the sacrifices proffered in the independence struggle, impressed upon the public to maintain perfect communal harmony and work concertedly for the all round welfare of the country and National. They need work for the upliftment of poor and down trodden.
Residents of Jeevan Nagar too celebrated the day with great fervor and zeal . TS Slathia on the occasion hosted the national flag .
J&K Cultural Devlopmental Forum Trikuta Nagar celabrted the 64th Independence day where flag was hoisted by Sham Choudhary , Chief guest on the occasion , Prof Garu Ram while Dr Jatinder Singh was the guest of honor .The function was preside over by Aseem Gupta President All J&k Cultural developmental Forum.
Jammu University toady celebrated the 64th Independence day with Patriotic fervor and gaiet at university campus, Prof Varun Sahni Vice Chancellor Jammu University on the occasion hosited the national flag and exhorted the students and staff to contribute in nation building by doing their duties , with full dedication and discipline.

Like every year, Jewels Bazar Traders Association today celebrated Independance Day of Republic of India and unfurled the National Flag on the occaison by the local residents and the bazar association members. Desh Bakti geets were sung by the membrs and the function ended with singing of National anthum by the members. Sweets and Halwa distributed amoung the people. Atal Bihari Khajuria Chairman of the association was the Chief Guest.
A simple but impressive function was held by Jammu Municipal Corporation in the Town Hall premises to celebrate the 64th Independence Day. The Worthy Commissioner S.C. Sawhney (KAS) presided over the function. In his address, the Worthy Commissioner extended his heartiest greetings to all the country men especially to the people of Jammu & Kashmir State.
Jammu West Assembly Movement Celibrated 64th Independence of the nation with great joy, enthusiasm, and proud. The Movement hoisted tricolor flag of the country and paid rich floral tributes to the great martyrs of the nation who gave and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of NATION INDIA.

Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today hoisted the National Flag at Government BoysHigher Secondary School, Poonch ground and took salute at animpressive march past presented by the JKP, Auxiliary, Army Jawans,Forest Protection Force, NCC students and children of variouseducational institutions of the district.
Bhalla congratulated people on 64th Independence Day and said thatafter gaining independence the country has made revolutionarydevelopment in various field like industries, agriculture, health,
human resource, roads and is leading among the developing countries,adding that the state of Jammu and Kashmir has also made remarkabledevelopment in various field.
Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP President J&K state hoisted national flag in Jammu. While addressing the gathering Mr Singh emphasized that all necessary steps to restore peace and normalcy must be taken on the most immediate basis and said Jammu and Kashmir is a integral part of India and warned the divisive forces who are raising their ugly heads with the help of Pakistan which is jealous of India where the country was not in a position before independence to make a needle and now the country has made from needle to war Tank-aeroplanes and has become one of the leading economic power and biggest democracy in the world.
The 64th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm at Chamber House. President Y.V. Sharma Hoisted the National Flag, National Anthem was sung by the People present.. Y.V. Sharma addressing the gathering recalled the martyrdom of great revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives to attain freedom from British Imperialism. Secretary General Satish Gupta in his brief address exhorted the members of the Chamber to work dedicatly and sincerely to make our nation strong.
Frontier Headquarters, BSF Jammu celebrated 64th Independence Day with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Many functions and events were organized on this auspicious occasion. S Chattopadhyaya, IG BSF hoisted the National Flag at BSF Stadium, Paloura Camp in the presence of officers, subordinate officers and men. He conveyed his warm wishes on this historic occasion a this day reminds of the supreme scarifies made by the freedom fighters and martyrs to liberate our mother land from the yoke of the foreign rule. Homage and respect was paid to all those known and unknown martyrs, patriots and freedom fighters of our country, who laid down their lives, so that we all may live in a free world.
ASN Hr Sec School celebrates "Independence day" inside the school premises. J A Khateeb, Joint Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir state board of school Education, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion where as Prof. Shiv Dev Manhas, Department of Dogri, University of Jammu was the Guest of Honor.

Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) celebrated Independence Day in New Delhi and Jammu with great pomp and show.In the National Capital, National President KPC- Kundan Kashmiri hoisted National flag at Dwarika and Gurgaon. On the occasion Kashmiri stressed upon the masses to contribute in nation building in a big way.
1st Step Tutorial, Janipur, Jammu organized a function to celebrate the Independence Day Sh.B.L.Kapoor, Chairman J&K Human Rights Watch was the Chief Guest and Viney Gupta Director Ist Step Tutorial organized the function.
On the occasion, tributes were paid to the martyrs of freedom struggle thereafter a debate competition was held presented by the students of the tutorial which impressed the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Kapoor threw light on the different aspects of programme and the development made by country after Independence. Addressing the students, Viney Gupta stressed on the role to be played by youth.
J&K Human Rights Watch has celebrated Independence Day today on 15rh August 2010 at Janipur Colony. The National flag was hoisted by the state Chairman Sh.B.L.Kapoor.
National Anthem was sung. B.L.Kapoor delivered the speech in which he threw light on the importance of the day. Sweets were distributed among the gathering. Other prominent who participated were Viney Gupta, Poonam Gupta, Deepak Kapoor Amit, Supriya, Showkat Ali Bhajan Singh, Irem chowdhary, Mirnalini, Sawal shah, Meenakshi & Ajay.
At Kathua:
The various political or non political organizations in kathua celebrated 64th Independence Day with great pump show in their respective offices and raised the slogans as 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai Ho' and hoisted the Indian national flag. The Savior of Innocent Labour (SOIL) hoisted the national flag at its office and criticized the anti national forces who are trying to weak the nation by attempting the terrorist activities. The Bhartya Janta Party district kathua also hoisted the tricolors national flag at its office and also raised the Bandhe remembered the sacrifices of the great national heroes of the India who laid their lives in quite young age for the cause of nation and freed the Indians from the clutches of the British rulers on the 15th august of 1947. In the programme member of state working committee of BJP Narinder Singh Jasrotia, Ex-district President of BJYM Ramesh Gupta, Ravi Dutt Sharma, Vidhya Sagar Sharma of BJYM, and the cashier of State BJP committee Janak Bhartya. Meanwhile the Panther party of district kathua also hoisted the tricolor national flag of the India at Shamed Bhagat Singh Park Kathua to celebrate the 15th august as Independence Day.
Shri Mata Satyawati Model School also celebrated the Independence Day at Changran kathua on the occasion the Chief Education officer K.K Gupta was the chief guest was accompanied by the guest of honour Chairman of the school Mangat Ram Mahajan.
Gandhi Seva Sadhan kathua centre organized a programme to celebrate the 64th independence day of India and remembered the dynamic and unforgettable sacrifices by hoisted the national flag by the chief guest EX- Municipal Council kathua Ch. Rajinder Singh (Bubby). On the occasion the Rajinder Singh Bubby expressed deep grief and sorrow over the unexpected killing of the people of Leh in a natural accident by bursting of cloud and also said that the Indian Independence day is achieved by the sacrifices of the lakh of people including all sections of the people and it was a joint and collective struggle of the Indian people to root out the British ruler and freed the country on 15th august 1947. On the occasion the senior citizen along with staff member Surinder Bhasin, Manager Puran Chand, B.D Nadwal, Hardev Singh, Ram Parsad Gupta and Sham Lal were present.
To celebrate the 64th Independence Day the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association organized a function with zeal and patriotic fervour. Association President Ex MLA Sat Pal Lakhotra unfurled the national tricolour and highlighted the importance of the Independence Day. President, Youth Development Committee Dilay Ram Kaith recalled the sacrifices made by Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar, Sukhdev Singh and others for the freedom of our country.
At R. S. Pura, Jammu Sub Divisional Magistrate,. A. K. Khajuria unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march-past from the contingents drawn from NCC, school children and the Army Band. Congratulating the people on 64th Independence Day, the SDM recalled the selfless contributions of visionary national leaders and heroes. He said that today's generation should follow their footsteps to protect the dignity and sovereignty of the nation, besides steering it further make it a better place to live in. He said that adherence to the principles of our legendry leaders occupies more relevance in today's perplexed era when all have fallen prey to the materialistic world.
At Akhnoor, 64th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and fervour at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys). SDM Akhnoor, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past drawn from various schools. Students of Government Higher Secondary School Boys & Girls, Little Hut High School and Chandra Bhaga High School presented patriotic songs.
At Majalta, the Independence Day was celebrated with gaiety and patriotism in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Majalta where the National Flag was unfurled by Tehsildar Majalta Mrs Sapna Kotwal.
On the occasion, the tehsil social welfare department distributed 10 cheques amounting to Rs. 10,000 each under National Family Benefit Scheme( NSAP).
At Chenani, the Independence Day main function was held in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Chenani .
Tehsildar Chenani Mr Ravinder Kumar Anand unfurled Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents drawn from various schools of the tehsil.
MLA Chenani, Mr. Krishan Chander Bhagat was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large number were present to witness the national function.
At Ramnagar, Tehsildar Ramnagar, S.K. Goswami hoisted the Tricolour at the main function held in the premises of Govt. HSS, Ramnagar and took salute at the march past presented by the NCC and schools students of various educational insitutitons, today. Tehsil Officers of different departments, prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large attended the function.
At Katra, Additional Chief Executive Officer, SMVD, Katra, Dr. M.K. Bhandari unfurled the National flag in the premises of Govt. HSS Katra and took salute at an impressive march past of 18 contingents drawn from various educational institutions held, today.
Prominent citizens, Teachers, school children and people in large number were present to witness the gala event.
On the occasion, the Chief guest also distributed trophies among the participating contingents of March Past.
