Salahudin to meet fate of his accomplices if he intrudes into J&K: Gen Singh
10/11/2010 10:26:19 PM
BHARAT BHUSHAN

JAMMU, Oct 11:
Pak-based Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terror outfit chief Syed Salahuddin got the right and tough message from army chief, Gen V K Singh when he said "if he attempts to infiltrate, he will also be dealt with in the same way his accomplices are".
Intelligence agencies had Saturday said that Salahudin was nowadays taking rounds of the militant training camps across the Line of Control (LoC) to revive the sagging spirits of the trainee and trained militants.
The morale of militants in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) had gone very low in view of the multi-tier security on borders and the killing of most of their infiltrating accomplices for the past some time, a senior army officer said.
Under such fool-proof security scenario and foiling of most of infiltration bids, Salahuddin and his Pak mentors were worried that a time might arrive when militants could refuse to enter India to
keep the pot boiling, he added. He said Pak army and ISI officers were regular visitors to terror
camps, but this time they took Salahuddin with them to infuse new vigour into the militant movement."The determination of militants was showing signs of cracking, he asserted.
The officer said though there was an increase in the number of infiltration bids in Jammu and Kashmir, troops were on round-the-clock vigil to kill anybody who dared to come to this side
of the border. The intrusion attempts by the Pak-based militants have witnessed an
abrupt jump every year before the onset of winters. The trend continues for the past over two decades."The days, before the mountain passes are covered with snow, are very crucial," the officer added. The army chief, who was speaking to journalists in New Delhi, too showed his concern over the increase in number of infiltration bids from across the LoC. He said in about 25 such attempts, troops had killed nearly 40 militants.
The officer said due to the vast security network on the LoC and intelligence gathering ability of police and army in the hinterland, it was not easy for militants to sneak into the Indian territory
without being seen by anybody and then survive for long.
"In case, they manage to breach the border defence, they are likely to be killed later as information about their movement moves very fast," he added.
He said though intelligence inputs suggested that Salahuddin had been visiting terror camps situated in PoK close to LoC along with Pak army and ISI officers, troops were well prepared to deal with any situation along the borders.
In a national news channel, the army chief said as Salahuddin was on other side of the LoC, it did not matter with whom he went around."However, if he tries to infiltrate, he will also be dealt with in the same way his accomplices are," Gen Singh said, giving a tough message to the militant commander, who was also chief of United Jehad Council in Pakistan.
When the officer's attention was drawn towards Gen Singh's statement, he said Salahuddin would never dare to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir as he knew he would be killed by alert Indian border troops.
He, however, said the army chief's statement would definitely give a boost to the border troops who were guarding the country's boundaries day in, day out.
