Justice Kalifulla posted Judge in J&K high court | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 18 : Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla has been transferred and posted as Judge in Jammu and Kashmir high court. According to the notification issued by Ministry of law and justice it has been stated that President of India Pratibha Patil after consultation with the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Justice of India transferred Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla presently Judge of Madras High Court as Judge of J&K High Court. Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla was born on July 23, 1951. He hails from Karaikudi, Sivagangai District Tamil Nadu and was enrolled as an Advocate on August 20, 1975. He was an active Labour Law Practitioner and appeared for various Public and Private Sector Undertakings, nationalized and scheduled banks. He was the standing counsel for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and was later, elevated as Permanent Judge of Madras High Court on March 2, 2000. It is expected that Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla will reach Jammu on February 22/23, 2011 and take oath on February 23 or February 24, 2011. It is worthwhile to mention here Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla will be First Puisne Judge of state High Court. During his period as judge, Madras High Court delivered various landmark judgments including setting-aside of civic election of 99 wards out of 155 wards of Chennai City Corporation
