| NC accused of widening wedge between Congress factions | | Loyalists of AZAd faction soft towards NC….? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 17: Political bickering and naggings between allies of ruling coalition have reached all time low with leaders at the middle rung of both Congress and NC exchanging unsavory and unpalatable expressions against each other and even hurling abuses besides passing sarcastic remarks. The bickerings which started few days back between the the parties is now gradually narrowing down to creating further wedge within two factions of Congress with the loyalists of PCC Chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz raising fingers at some loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad in what they accuse them of being soft towards National Conference.
At a time when Congress is trying to make a loud cry once again over the issue of rotational Chief Minister in the hope it reaches party high command for fulfilling 'desire' of workers to have transfer of power in its favour by the end of the year, Congress factions appear to be disjointed and disunited which became apparent when even senior visiting leaders of the party alleged that some leaders belonging to Kashmir are soft and inclined towards NC postures as they are getting money from secret fund being given by the ruling NC.
The underline statement was that NC was 'using or exploiting' some Congress men of J&K by proving money to them so that they adopt soft political postures when it comes to serving the interests of the party ( NC). Some leaders also mince no words in saying that even though the factions within the Congress in J&K exist for varied reasons, NC was only making attempts to widen the gaps and fissures by indulging in such acts of keeping some Congress men in 'good humour' by 'serving their 'individual' interests.
Sources said though it was no secret but the word in this direction has gone to high command with some leaders in Kashmir having taken serious notice of these leaders favouring NC instead of raising the voice and echoing what state unit of Congress is aspiring for at present, no matter it is being seen only as the beginning of a debate and discussion ahead of completion of three years of coalition with Omar Abdullah occupying chair of Chief Minister.
Amid mud slinging and washing of dirty linen in public by the functionaries of two ruling partners this is emerging as a serious concern for the Congress leadership that some senior leaders continue to take sides of NC on every minor and major issue. Surprisingly, these leaders are justifying their stand and inclination towards NC by saying it is necessary to save and strengthen the coalition led by Omar Abdullah. Interestingly, at a time when almost all senior functionaries based in Kashmir are up against the NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamal for his 'unsavory' remarks against what he stated J&K Congress leaders, those soft towards NC who otherwise have been seen on occasions vocal against Dr Kamal, have adopted a neutral posture saying such statements "would only weaken the coalition………NC high command must restrict and restrain Dr Mustafa Kamal against making such comments in future….". |
