Congress & 13/7 Mumbai terrorist attacks
Rahul, Digvijay under attack

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 17: The terrorists once again struck and blasted Mumbai at three busy places. They liquidated at least 20 innocent civilians and left more than 130 others injured, some of them grievously. The attacks outraged the nation and virtually held the Congress-led UPA Government responsible for the attacks on the financial capital of India, which has been suffering at the hands of Pakistan-backed, motivated and indoctrinated terrorists at regular intervals since 1993, including the 26/11 terrorist attacks. (The 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai are described as 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.) The nation accused the Congress of pursuing "weak-kneed policy towards terrorism." The Congress was also charged with pursuing "soft approach towards them as the Congress is interested more in the vote-bank politics and appeasement than in the national security."
The charges levelled against the Congress are indeed very serious. The Shiv Sena - Bal Thakre (SSB) even went to the extent of asking the authorities to book Congress general secretary and Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi under the charge of "sedition." Then, there are others who demanded stern action against another general secretary of the Congress and former MP chief minister Digvijay Singh, who only recently suggested at Varanasi that "time has come for Rahul to become Prime Minister" and warned Anna Hazare of dire consequences in case he followed in the footsteps of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. Everyone knows what the Congress government did to Baba Ramdev and his followers and supporters, including women and children, at Ramlila Ground, New Delhi, only recently.
What provoked the people to level such grave charges against Rahul, the so-called would-be-the-next-Prime Minister and Digvijay? The highly controversial statement both of them made while reacting to the 13/7 Mumbai dastardly attacks. Reacting to the attacks, Rahul had said that "it is impossible to ensure that no terrorist attack takes place in the country" and that "India is far more secure than Pakistan where terrorist attacks take place on daily basis." It was indeed a very irresponsible statement. It was also an insult of the people of Mumbai, who have been suffering huge losses both in terms of men and money because of the orgy of death and destruction unleashed by the Islamic terrorists. Earlier, Rahul had told the American Ambassador to India that "Hindu terrorism is more dangerous as compared to Islamic terrorism." Besides, he had denounced the RSS as a fundamentalist and terrorist outfit.
As for Digvijay Singh, who has been denouncing the majority community since months now and siding with the Islamic terrorists since long, went to the extent of saying that what happened in Mumbai were "not terrorist attacks." He crossed all the lines and threw to wind all norms of decency when he today told reporters that "he could not overrule the possibility of the RSS hand in the Mumbai terrorist attacks" and that "let the security agencies investigate the matter." His statement evoked sharp reaction from the BJP. The nature of the reaction can be gauged from the fact that the BJP asked Sonia and Rahul to tender an unconditional apology to the outraged nation. The BJP also publicly stated that Digvijay made this statement at the behest of Sonia and Rahul. "Digvijay's statement is the Congress' statement," the BJP national spokesperson said. Not only this, the BJP also accused the Congress leadership of deliberately making such statements. Its charge was: "The Congress wants to vitiate the process of inquiry started by the security agencies to identify and nab the perpetrators of the 13/7 terrorist attacks." It needs to be underlined that the Congress officially supported the Digvijay's stand.
No one would appreciate what Rahul and Digvajay said in the past and what they said about the Mumbai terrorist attacks. There are reasons to believe that the Congress has made up its mind to pollute the national scene and vitiate all the inquiries, including the inquiry in the present case, aimed at bringing to justice all those involved in the 26/11, 13/7 and similar other terrorist attacks. The Congress leadership has, it seems, gone totally perverted and this does not augur well for the future of the country. India needs leaders like Indira Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi (notwithstanding certain acts of omission and commission committed by Indira Gandhi) and not the likes of Rahul and Digvijay. They are not the country's assets; they are liabilities. The kind of politics they have been indulging in would certainly divide the Indian society and help anti-India forces to balkanize the country.
