Land dispute in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, July 22: 94 year old freedom fighter from Kishtwar District Bishroop Sharma was attacked and injured by his son Dev Raj, his wife and two childrens, when Tehsidar Incharge Kishtwar Mohammad Ammin Qazi along with Girdawar Iklaq Ahmed Hap and Patwari Javed Iqbal Khandey were handing over the position of disputed land measuring 6 marlas situated at Panditgham village of Kishtwar District after Assistant Commissioner Kishtwar RK Shavan issued order in favour of 94 year old Bishroop Sharma and directed Tehsildar Kishtwar to handover the position of land to Bishroop Sharma with compliance report within 7 days. When today, the revenue officials were about to handover the position of the disputed land to Bishroop Sharma, his son along with other family members attacked him, as a result of which Bishroop Sharma received injury on his head. Later Bishroop Sharma was taken to hospital by the police party where doctors treated his injury. When contacted ACR Kishtwar RK Shavan informed that he had issued direction to concern In charge Tehsildar to issue arrest warrants against the accused under section 107 executed through police. He said that he had also issued direction to provide security to Bishroop Sharma. Shevan said that is monitoring the case on top priority so that the justice could be delivered to 94 year old persons who was forcefully thrown out the his own land. Meanwhile Bishroop Sharma has approached Kishtwar police for registration of an FIR against the accused. While talking to "Early Times", Bishroop Sharma said that he was attacked by his son and his family since his son was not ready to handover the position of land to me. He said that his intension is to kill me and garb my piece of land. He said that he will continue its fight to regain the control of the land which belongs to him. He said that ACR Kishtwar has also found his claim over the said piece of land as genuine.
