| 1 killed as mini bus turns turtle | | | JAMMU: One person was killed and five others were injured when a mini bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and turned turtle on the road at Satwari Chowk this morning.
"The mini bus, which was on way from Ambphalla to village Raya Sucheni, skidded off near Satwari Chowk on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and turned turtle on the road in which one person was killed and five sustained injuries," police sources said.
The identity of the deceased has been established as Ghulam Nabi son of Rahim Baksh of Purmandal.
Nabi was conductor of the vehicle and a close relative of the driver, who managed to flee from the spot, sources added.
On receiving information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, the official said and added, "The injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment." The locals have blamed the traffic department for not keeping check on rash driving and over-loading in the mini buses. |
