Early Times Report

Jammu, July 4 : After photographs of MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat, became viral on social media, the State Disciplinary Committee of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) served a notice to him, asking him to appear before it on July 12.
In its first meeting held Wednesday under chairmanship of Adv. Sunil Sethi, the newly constituted Disciplinary Committee took serious note of allegations of moral corruption and discipline against Dr Bhagat which had been reported in media and has caused adverse impact on the image of the party. The meeting was attended by both members ND Rajwal and S. Varinderjeet Singh.
The Disciplinary Committee having taken into consideration media reports, offensive pictures on social media and complaints to police by family of the girl, decided to take cognizance of the issue and issued notice to Dr Bhagat asking him to appear before it with all proof and evidence on July 12 at 3 pm at Party Headquarters at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The Disciplinary Committee also asked the members of public and the concerned parties to produce any evidence or proof on the issue before it on the fixed date. It said that allegations of indiscipline or dishonesty against party workers and leaders will be strictly investigated and appropriate action suggested to the competent authority and there will no exception for any person of whatever stature in the party as for BJP Discipline is above any individual to be followed in letter and spirit.
The Disciplinary Committee also asked the party leaders to remain within bounds of discipline of the party which has very proudly protected it's ideology of party discipline over the years and have instilled in the people the position of party as ' Party with the Difference". If anything is brought to the notice of Disciplinary Committee or comes to its notice duo motto regarding indiscipline or dishonesty by any party leader, the immediate cognizance will be taken, Adv. Sunil Sethi added. It is pertinent to mention here that the controversy started when family of a girl staged a protest demonstration against Dr Bhagat for allegedly kidnapping their daughter. However, the MLA denied allegations. After protest by family of girl against the MLA and denial of allegations of kidnapping by him, 'intimate' photographs of MLA and a girl went viral on social media.
