| Ramban police arrests 03 bovine smugglers | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Mar 27: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, arrested 03 bovine smugglers, rescued 25 bovines and seized three vehicles. A police team of Police station Batota headed by SHO Batote while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Nashri, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration JK 14 F 4130 and held one person namely Mohd Sadeeq son of Mohd Rafeeq resident of Ancha Tehsil Chenani District Udhampur. During checking 09 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Police Party of PS Chanderkote headed by SHO Chanderkote foiled two Bovine smuggling bids, intercepted 02 vehicles bearing registration Nos JK 20 A 2822, JK21A 8257 and held 02 persons namely Mohd Ashraf son of Mohd yousif resident of Nagani Tehsil Devsar District Kulgam and Ishfaq Ahmed son of Abdual Khaliq resident of Keshwan,Kukernag District Anantnag. During checking 16 bovines were found laden inside the two vehicles which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. As a result, a total of 25 bovine animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 40/2024 was registered at Police Station Batote, FIR No. 40/2024 and 41/2024 at PS Chanderkote under Sections 188 IPC, and under the Prevention of cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 03 persons arrested and 03 vehicle involved in the commission of offence have been Seized.
The successful rescue operation was conducted by Police parties led by SHO Police Station Batote and SHO PS Chanderkote under the supervision of Dysp Hqrs Ramban, Addl.SP Ramban, with the overall supervision by SSP Ramban. |
