| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 5 held, seized 3 vehicles and rescued 20 bovine animals | | |  Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 1: On the intervening night of 31st May and 1st June 2025, the police carried out an important operation at Thalka Naka to stop illegal transportation of bovine animals. During the operation, three vehicles were intercepted, which were found to be involved in the illegal smuggling of Bovine Animals. The vehicle numbers are:
1. JK11A 4408, 2. JK12B 1415, 3. JK14F 0793
After checking the vehicles, the police found 20 bovine animals loaded in a cruel and unsafe manner, without following the proper rules. This act was a clear violation of the order issued by the District Magistrate of Rajouri, which bans transportation of bovine animals without permission.
As a result, three cases viz FIRs (No. 71/2025, 72/2025, and 73/2025) have been registered at Police Station Nowshera under the relevant laws. The vehicles have been seized, and legal action is being taken against the drivers and other involved persons.
Further investigation is going on to find out if more people are connected to this illegal activity. |
