Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 2: In making a significant contribution to the on-going national wide campaign on Viksit Krishi Sampark Abhiyan being organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India and implemented by ICAR, New Delhi, the awareness programmes were held in the Paddar and Dachhan Blocks of District Kishtwar by different teams constituted under the leadership of Dr Narinder Paul Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar. On the 5th day of the pan-India campaign, the programmes in District Kishtwar were held at Chatroo, Pinjrari, Masso, Gulabarh and Sohal villages of the Distict by the teams consisting of agricultural scientists, officers of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, Fisheries, members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Krishi Sakhis. Kushal Chandel CAO, Kishtwar, Sanjeev Kumar Scientist, Nirmal Sharma Scientist, Satish Sharma Scientist from RHRSS, SKUASAT Jammu, Dheeraj Singh SDAO Paddar, Honish Jamwal SMS SDL Paddar, Kuldeep Koul SMS SDL Marwah exteneded technical expertise in executing the campaign across the length and breadth of the district. The major focus during the programmes is to make the farmers aware of the ongoing centrally sponsored schemes so that farmers can take full advantage of these schemes. Moreover, the technical advisories for the ongoing kharif season with respect to the major crops of the district are also being issued to the participating farmers for their adoption by them. More than 500 farmers were covered during the programmes. Arun Sharma, Riaz Ahmad, Raj Kumar, Manoj Sharma, Barinder Kumar officers from the agriculture and allied departments also participated in the programmes. |
