GDC Kathua celebrates World Environment Day-2025 | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, June 5: Government Degree College Kathua marked World Environment Day 2025 with a unique and engaging activity aimed at increasing green cover and spreading environmental awareness. The event featured a creative initiative titled "Picture/Selfie While Planting a Sapling with Your Grandparents/Parents/Younger Children", encouraging students and their families to participate in environmental conservation by planting saplings together. Under the patronage of Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of the college, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who planted a variety of saplings to enhance the greenery on the campus. The activity was organized by the Department of Environmental Sciences, GDC Kathua, under the guidance of Prof. Arvind Kumar, Head of the Department. This initiative was designed to foster intergenerational involvement in environmental protection and to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Through the simple yet impactful act of planting trees, the college community came together to contribute to a more sustainable future.
