Samba, July 21: As part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the NCORD Cell of Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba, in collaboration with the Sports Committee, successfully organized a Lemon Race and Kho-Kho match on the college premises. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about drug-free living while promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among the youth. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 45 students, who displayed great sportsmanship and a strong commitment to the cause of a drug-free India. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Papinder Kumar, Nodal Officer, NCORD Cell, and Dr. Pankaj Bandhoira, Convener, Sports Committee. Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Co-Convener, Sports Committee, also played a key role in the smooth conduct of the event, with the active support of other dedicated staff members. Senior faculty members of the college graced the event and appreciated the efforts of the organising committee. Prof. Twinkle Suri, Principal of the college, lauded the efforts of the NCORD Cell and Sports Committee and encouraged the continuation of such meaningful and engaging activities in the future as well. She reaffirmed the institution’s commitment towards fostering a drug-free and healthy campus environment. In the Lemon Race (Boys) category, Deepak Kumar, Arun, and Rohit of 3rd Semester secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively. In the Lemon Race (Girls) category, Ritika, Rupali, and Anjali of 3rd Semester clinched the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively. In the Kho-Kho match, Team A emerged as the winner, securing the 1st position.
