Jammu, July 21: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Police Station Bishnah , Jammu, achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending two drug peddlers,recovering huge quantity of narcotics and cash. On a reliable information, a naka was established at Sikandarpur Kothey Bishnah, a suspected drug hotspot, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of heroin (Chitta). The operation resulted in the seizure of 283 grams (of heroin(Chita) & Cash worth 20 Lakhs two thousand rupees.A Swift Car bearing registration number JK02BB-9853 was also seized. The arrested accused have been identified as: 1. Sadiq Ali @Jattu S/o Roshan Din R/o Handey Chal, Marheen District Kathua & 2. Saif Ali @Safu S/o Noor Ali R/o Village Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah, Jammu. Accused Sadiq Ali is Son-in-law of accused Saif Ali, and their further questioning is expected to provide further leads on the supply chain and distribution network of the contraband. In this regard, FIR No. 69/2025 has been registered at Police Station Bishnah under sections 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act.* The operation was led by SDPO R S Pura Sh. Gurmeet Singh-JKPS, Inspector Sh. Sushil Choudhary SHO P/S Bishnah, PSI Darshan Singh and PSI Purshotam Kumar under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu,Sh.Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the recovered contraband. Police are thoroughly examining both the backward and forward linkages in the case. Additionally, a financial investigation has been initiated to trace the proceeds of illegal narcotic trade and take appropriate legal action. Jammu Police urges citizens to come forward with any information regarding illegal drug activities in their localities. With continued public cooperation, sincere efforts are being made to build a drug-free and crime-free society.
