JAMMU, Oct 27: Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Raj Tilak Road, Purani Mandi, Jammu celebrated the Accession Day of J&K in a grand way on October 26 at its Raj Tilak Bhawan, Purani Mandi, Jammu under the president ship of Bishan Singh Jamwal President of Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha.
The Accession Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at Sabha Bhawan Jammu by the people of Rajput Community and other caste. The large number of people irrespective of caste and creed were gathered at Sabha Bhawan to pay homage to highly visionary and most popular Maharaja Hari Singh on Accession Day. Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal was chief guest of the programme who paid homage to Maharaja Hari Singh along with Smt. Usha Parmar D/o Brig. (Late) Rajinder Singh Jamwal (Saviour of Kashmir). Major General GS Jamwal shared his memories during turbulent times of JK State at the time of its accession to the union of India.. and gave a detailed account of mischievous role of British Govt. and the Then Government of India, which created such circumstances for Maharaja to leave the State, against the wishes of the masses. Major Gen. Jamwal cautioned the youth to remain vigilant against the evil designs of the enemy. Shri Naryan Singh (Ex-President) Chairman of Amar Kshatriya Sabha Charitable Trust enlightened the gathering about the circumstances under which the State acceded to the Indian Union at that time. Bishan Singh Jamwal President of the Sabha highlighted the historical perspective of Accession and talked about the future course of action to ensure more power and development for the Jammu region that has witnessed large- scale discrimination at the hands of the successive Governments in the State during past Seventy Six years.
A large number of people from different walks of life including intelligentsia, academicians, doctors, public representatives, businessmen, social activists, office bearers of social organizations and students were present on the occasion. Mementoes were given to prominent personalities of Rajput Biradari are Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (AVSM), Smt. Usha Parmar, Capt. Bihari Singh (Life Member AKRS), Dr. Romesh Singh (Retd. Principal) of Govt. Dental College, Jammu, Jagdish Thakur (Desa, Doda).
All speakers spoke about the accession of princely state of Jammu and Kashmir to India when its rural Maharaja Hari Singh singed the instrument of accession on 26th of October 1947. This decision was made in response to an invasion by Pakistan sported trible militias which forced the maharaja to seek military assistance from India. People remembered the Maharaja for his good governance. The prominent speakers were Jagdish Singh (Vice President), Mangleshwar Singh (General Secretary), B.S. Jamwal (Retd. DC), Shamsher Singh Parihar (Retd. DSP, Advisor), Narinder Singh (Executive Member), Capt. Inder Singh Distt. President Samba, Kartar Singh Distt. President Kathua, Karan Dev Singh Chib Distt. President Ramban, Surinder Singh Raju (Vice President, Ramban), Wakeel Singh (Tehsil General Secretary, Sunderbani), Parkash Singh (Sakha Sabha President, Jandrah), Sher Singh (Sakha Sabha President, Kunkanyala, Penthal), Kulbir Singh (Tehsil President Majalta), Balbir Singh (President Distt. Jammu Rural), Ranbir Singh Jamwal (Retd. Manager, J&K), Zorawar Singh Jamwal Chairman Team Jammu, Kapil Singh Chib (Life Member Sabha), Narinder Singh, Dr. Deepak, Varinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Hardeep Thakur, Gagan Singh, Sugreev Singh Sambyal, Sandeep Singh Sambyal, Hapoo Singh Sambyal, Mahant Hanuman Mandir Purani Mandi, Jammu also gave blessing to the community members on this occasion.
