IIM Jammu inaugurates Management Immersion Programme for MBA Students of IILM University

Jammu, Oct 28: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated the Management Immersion Programme (Batch-I) for MBA students of IILM University, Gurugram, at its Jagti Campus today. The programme is being conducted under the guidance of the Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C) division of IIM Jammu to enhance managerial competencies and industry readiness among participants. The training program included 60 students of MBA program from IILM University. They are accompanied by two faculty members from IILM University, Dr. Tushar Gahlaut and Dr. Sanju Rani.
The inaugural session took place at the Dronacharya Classroom, Academic Block, IIM Jammu, and commenced with registration and a guided tour of the Academic Block, offering participants an overview of the institute’s world-class infrastructure and learning environment. Present during the inaugural ceremony were Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Parida; Dr. Pratik Maheshwari-Co-Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy; Dr. Sumit Maheshwari and Dr. Kamakshi Sharma, Program Directors of the Management Immersion Programme.
The event commenced with a campus tour for the students and the faculty, offering them an immersive experience of IIM Jammu’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and vibrant learning environment. The inaugural ceremony began with the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Program Director, delivered the welcome address and provided a glimpse into the programme structure aimed at experiential learning and leadership development. He emphasized that the initiative is aligned with IIM Jammu’s vision of creating socially responsible, industry-ready professionals.
Sharing her views on the programme, Dr. Kamakshi Sharma, Program Director, IIM Jammu, said that the initiative is carefully designed to enable experiential learning by connecting academic frameworks with real-world challenges. She mentioned that the programme encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership among participants, helping them align their career aspirations with industry expectations.
Speaking about the Executive Education initiatives at IIM Jammu, Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson, EE&C, highlighted how the institute is focused on building transformational learning experiences that equip learners with contemporary managerial skills and global perspectives.
The session concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sumit Maheshwari, Program Director, IIM Jammu who expressed gratitude to IILM University for its collaboration and extended appreciation to faculty coordinators and participants for their enthusiastic support. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the National Anthem followed by a group photograph.
The Management Immersion Programme – Batch I is designed to blend theoretical frameworks with real-world business insights, equipping students with strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills. The programme will include interactive classroom sessions, case discussions, industry insights, and team-based activities during the course of the week.
IIM Jammu continues to strengthen its role as a hub for executive and management development, aligning with its vision of excellence in education, research, and outreach.
