Akhnoor, Oct 28: BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member Pandit Suresh Sharma chaired a review meeting with officials of the Rural Development Department at Block Maira Mandrian to assess the progress of ongoing development works under various schemes.
During the meeting, Sharma reviewed projects being implemented under the PRI Capex, BDC Capex, and DDC Capex for the financial year 2025–26.
He directed the officials to expedite the tendering process and ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
He Informed that developmental works worth Rs 1.91 crore are underway across the panchayats of Barui, Kandi, Nardi, Balgara, Maira Mandrian, Gharatal, Kathar, and keour.
Sharma stressed that quality, transparency, and accountability must be maintained at every stage of execution.
Addressing connectivity issues, Sharma noted that several village roads remain blocked due to heavy monsoon rains and directed the department to restore road access without delay.
Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), he emphasized that no eligible family should be left without a permanent home, and urged officials to ensure timely disbursement of benefits.
He also discussed the progress of MGNREGA works and called for efficient, transparent, and people-oriented implementation of employment-generating projects.
The meeting was attended by Block Development Officer (BDO) Tahir Hafiz, Assistant Engineer Manmohan Kumar, along with engineers and panchayat secretaries of the Rural Development Department.
