Annual Technical Festival inaugurate at Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur, Nov 1: The grand annual technical festival TeqFest-2K25 was inaugurated today at Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur, under the esteemed leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. K. Misra. The two-day celebration aims to foster innovation, creativity, and cultural expression through a wide range of events organized by various technical societies, clubs, and student bodies of the university.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a devotional Shabad and vibrant performances by university students. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Misra motivated students to actively participate in such events to enhance their practical knowledge and innovative thinking, emphasizing that true learning comes from curiosity and hands-on exploration.
This year’s TeqFest features more than 40 technical and non-technical events and 13 major exhibitions.
The first day witnessed engaging competitions such as Hackathon, Paper Presentation, Water Rocket Competition, Tech Tambola, Mic for Challenge, Colour Clash, and Raula Pe Gya. Exhibitions like Poster Presentation, Kalakriti, Operation Sindoor, Pendu Punjab, Futureverse, and Techie Mania displayed exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and teamwork by students.
The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by Deans, Heads of Departments, and judges, visited all the exhibition stalls, interacting with participants and appreciating their innovative models and ideas. Later in the day, a Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized, during which Dr. Misra presented awards to the winners of various competitions, recognizing their outstanding achievements.
The on-stage events and performances were meticulously coordinated by Sh. Saurabh Mahajan, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur (Associate Dean, Student Affairs), Sh. Sukhwinder Bir (Associate Dean, Student Affairs), and Sh. Shamoun Masih (Co-coordinator, Cultural Affairs), ensuring the smooth conduct of the cultural proceedings.
Prominent among those present were Dr. Ajay Kumar, Registrar; Dr. Gurpadam Singh, Dean Student Affairs; Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and a large gathering of enthusiastic students.
The second day of TeqFest-2K25 will feature a series of exciting events including Sohni Gutt and Sohni Pagg, Design Your Home, Wire Buzz, Hydraulic Bot, Photo Scavenger Hunt, and Tech Puzzle, followed by captivating cultural performances and the concluding prize distribution ceremony.
