Pathania kicks start work on Rs 12 crore Banu to Bilaspur road
11/2/2025 7:45:52 PM

early times report

Jammu, Nov 2: Mr. R.S. Pathania, MLA Udhampur East, today started the work on the Banu–Bilaspur Road, to be constructed at a cost of almost ₹12 crore — calling it “another decisive step towards making Udhampur East a national model in road infrastructure”.
He said that with roads reaching Sortha, Paldai, Baddar, Banjli, Kanetar, Thanua, Jalmara, Sountha, Bredian, Jard and other long-bypassed habitations, the road-connectivity spectrum of the entire area will now undergo a generational transformation.
Mr. Pathania also held multiple public interaction programmes at Dehma Chiani, Majalta and other habitations. He announced funds for connectivity works in Majalta and Chiani, and sanctioned land drains and culverts to give safe, all-weather, long-life road assets to the public.
While interacting with the people of Sundla, he shared that a post-landslide rehabilitation plan has been drawn and will now be put into execution — so that every affected family gets immediate relief, protection and full institutional support.
He reiterated that land for housing, affordable connectivity, proper drinking water, and all other basic civic essentials shall now be delivered faster and with measurable outcomes. The local administration has been asked to fast-track formal inclusion of all such families into the system.
> “Our agenda is straight and simple,” Mr. Pathania said:
‘Every habitation. Every family. Every mile. Connected with quality and dignity.’
Among those present on the occasion were Mr. Mohan Lal Sharma (Mandal Pradhan), Shiv Ram, Kuldeep Singh, Kirpal Singh, Vikram, Namrata, Baldev, Manoj Verma, Nawab Din, Bhushan Kumar (Panch) and a galaxy of local leaders and public representatives — whose collective resolve and public participation showcase the pro-development, road-oriented spirit of Udhampur East itself.
