Rajouri, Dec 13: In a vibrant initiative aligned with the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the Nasha Mukt Committee of Govt. Post Graduate College Rajouri organized a friendly cricket match between students and faculty members. The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse while promoting sports as a healthy alternative.
During the match, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College, interacted warmly with the players and delivered an inspiring message. He urged the students to completely shun the social vice of drug addiction and unite in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society. Highlighting the transformative power of sports, Prof. Mirza emphasized that young people should seize educational and extracurricular opportunities, channelling their energy into athletic pursuits rather than harmful substances. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Convener of the College Nasha Mukt Committee, also addressed the gathering, motivating students to become ambassadors in the fight against drug abuse. He called for proactive involvement in spreading awareness within families, peer groups, and communities to create a ripple effect towards a healthier nation.
The event drew overwhelming participation, with enthusiastic involvement from both students and faculty, turning the college playground into a vibrant arena of camaraderie and purpose. The friendly competition not only showcased sporting talent but also reinforced the message that physical activity and team spirit are effective antidotes to the lure of drugs. Prominent faculty members who actively participated in the match and graced the occasion included Prof. Shokit Hussain, Dr. Latief Mir, Dr. Riaz Mirza, Dr. Zakir Kalis, Prof. Ayaz Chowdhary, Prof. Dwarka Nath, Prof. Anwar Chouhan, Dr. Joginder Singh, Dr. Shoket Kalis, Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed, Dr. Azhar Javid, Prof. Harshal Sharma, Prof. Altaf Hussain, Dr. Sagir, Dr. Mushtaq, Dr. Owais, and several others.
