MANDI GOBINDGARH, Dec 18: Desh Bhagat University Americas (DBU Americas) has marked a major institutional milestone by earning a 3.11 out of 4 rating from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The rating, officially recognized as equivalent to an A+ grade, places DBU Americas among the highest-rated India-origin medical universities operating in the Caribbean region.
During an interaction with media persons here today, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University congratulated the DBU Americas leadership and faculty, stating "This achievement reflects Desh Bhagat University's unwavering commitment to global excellence, academic integrity, and the development of future-ready medical professionals.
while Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and President Dr. Sandeep Singh praised the university's academic vision and quality systems.
Dr. Sandeep Singh added that the accreditation underscores DBU Americas' commitment to academic excellence, regulatory adherence, and alignment with global standards in medical education. With this recognition, the university joins an elite group of Caribbean medical institutions known for strong quality assurance frameworks and internationally benchmarked academic systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, said that according to NAB, the A+ equivalent rating reflects DBU Americas' strong performance across several key evaluation parameters, including academic governance and leadership, US-aligned MD curriculum design, faculty qualifications and research output, student support systems, learning infrastructure, and institutional quality assurance mechanisms.
With this achievement, DBU Americas strengthens its position within the top-tier group of accredited Caribbean medical universities, enhancing its international credibility and competitiveness.
The NAB accreditation significantly enhances international prospects for DBU Americas students, supporting eligibility across major global medical licensing pathways such as the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), the UK Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB), the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE), and India's FMGE/NExT.
It also reinforces the university's global recognition through bodies such as FAIMER (ID: F0006367).

He said that DBU Americas is the Caribbean-based medical University of Desh Bhagat University (India), offering a US-style MD program.
