Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 18: MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta on Thursday inaugurated the long-awaited blacktopping work of the road from Munshi Chak Pulli to Yog Ashram in Ward No. 32, marking a significant step towards improving road infrastructure and public convenience in the area. The project is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 38 lakh.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Dharam Vir Singh, Pritpal Singh, Sucha Singh, Anil Angral, Keshav Chopra, Geeta Sodhi, and a large number of local residents, who welcomed the commencement of the work and expressed satisfaction over the fulfilment of their long-pending demand.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Arvind Gupta said, "This road has been a long-standing demand of the residents of Ward No. 32. With the start of blacktopping work today, we are addressing a genuine public need and ensuring safer, smoother and more durable connectivity for daily commuters."
He added that quality infrastructure remains a priority in Jammu West, as it directly impacts the quality of life of the people.
He said, "The development witnessed in Jammu West is the direct result of the BJP's clear vision, people-centric policies and commitment to transparent governance. Our aim has always been to make Jammu West a model constituency where quality infrastructure, basic amenities and public convenience go hand in hand. Every project, whether big or small, is planned keeping the needs of common citizens in mind. BJP believes in development that is visible on the ground, not just on paper, and Jammu West today reflects that resolve."
Gupta further stated, "Development works are not just about laying roads, but about connecting people to opportunities, education, healthcare and better living conditions. This project reflects our commitment to balanced and inclusive development across all wards."
Local residents informed that the road was in poor condition for years, causing inconvenience to pedestrians, schoolchildren and elderly citizens, especially during the rainy season.
They thanked the MLA for taking personal interest in resolving the issue and initiating the work without further delay.
The MLA assured the public that the work would be completed within the stipulated timeframe and with strict adherence to quality standards.
He also reiterated that other developmental projects related to roads, drainage, sanitation and basic civic amenities are being planned and executed across the constituency.
Prominent local leaders present on the occasion appreciated the initiative and termed it a positive step towards strengthening infrastructure in Jammu West.
The residents expressed hope that such developmental works would continue, ensuring sustained growth and improved public facilities in the area.
