January, Jan 2: Government Degree College Darhal, Jammu and Kashmir, has commenced its annual Winter Camp, aimed at providing students with enriching educational, creative, and recreational experiences during the winter break.The Winter Camp was formally inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, in the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseen, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Prof. Anzar Ahmed and Altaf Hussain. The programme is being coordinated by the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the college under the supervision of Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Programme Officer, NSS. The Winter Camp is designed to provide students with a vibrant platform to explore their interests, develop new skills, and actively engage in creative, academic, and recreational pursuits. A wide range of activities has been planned, including workshops, cultural programmes, sports competitions, and educational excursions. While addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to organize this enriching Winter Camp for our students. It offers them an opportunity to step beyond their routine academic environment and participate in diverse learning experiences that promote personal growth, creativity, and holistic development.” The Winter Camp will run for seven days, from January 2 to January 8, 2026. The college administration has assured that all necessary safety measures and arrangements have been put in place to ensure a safe, disciplined, and enjoyable experience for all participants.
