JAMMU, Jan 27: A delegation of Shri Martand Tirath Virsa Pratishthan (SMTVP) led by M. K. Yogi (Senior KP leader) called on Shri Kuldeep Sidha (JKAS) Director Archives, Archaeology & Museums J&K today at his Jammu office and expressed heartfelt gratitude for his dedicated efforts in preserving and restoring religious heritage sites across the Union Territory, thereby strengthening the composite cultural legacy of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Pratishthan also conveyed it's gratitude for the facelift and renovation work at the sacred Mattan Shrine, and for the timely submission of the Ground Reality Report on fish mortality at the Holy Martand Spring, they also placed on record their sincere appreciation to the Director's timely, factual, and ground-based report submitted vide letter No. DAA&M/Ad/74/2022/3350-52 dated 29 December 2025 to the Hon'ble Chief Secretary, Government of Jammu Kashmir, that has drawn much-needed administrative attention to this sensitive issue in shortest possible time.
Shri M. K. Yogi, Chairman SMTVP, Founder Members Shri Surinder Mohan Tickoo and Shri Gopi Krishan Khar, along with Shri Veer Ji Pandita and others who accompanied the chairman deeply associated with the sacred Martand Tirath Raj, placed on record their sincere thanks for the Director's personal intervention and factual, on-ground assessment of the situation.
Shri M. K. Yogi stated that Martand is not merely an archaeological monument but a living spiritual and cultural landscape, and the holy spring and its aquatic life are integral to its sacred identity. The transparent report has drawn much-needed administrative attention to environmental concerns at the site.
The Correspondence Specialist Shri Veerji Pandita extended thanks to Shri K. K. Sidha for supporting long-pending dream projects, including the sanction of developmental funds for the approach road, stairs, and devotee facilities near Mata Bhargshikha Bhawan, which will greatly benefit pilgrims and visitors.
