JAMMU, Jan 28: Reinforcing the spirit of youth-led democratic participation, MY Bharat Jammu & Kashmir today organized a grand State-Level National Voter's Day Padyatra at Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, on the inspiring theme "MY Bharat, MY Vote." The event was dedicated to motivating new and first-time voters to actively engage in the electoral process and recognize voting as their fundamental democratic duty, in line with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of "Janbhagidari Se Rashtranirman" (Nation-building through people's participation).
Hundreds of MY Bharat volunteers, Youth Clubs, students, civil society members, and young citizens participated enthusiastically in the Padyatra, transforming the city streets into a vibrant expression of democratic awareness. The rally began from GCW Gandhi Nagar, passed through Green Belt Park Road and Hospital Road, and culminated back at the college campus, spreading the powerful message of voter participation across the community.
The programme commenced with the administration of the National Voter's Day Pledge by dignitaries and participants, reaffirming their commitment to uphold democratic values and ensure maximum participation of first-time voters in upcoming elections.
A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of first-time voters, who were honored with voter awareness badges and sweets, recognizing their entry into the democratic process and encouraging them to proudly exercise their right to vote for the first time.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Ch. Vikram Randhawa, Hon'ble MLA Bahu Constituency. Also present on the occasion were Shri Nissar Butt, State Director, MY Bharat J&K and Ladakh; Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal, GCW Gandhi Nagar; Shri Salam Din, Deputy Director in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K; Mr. Nitin, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Jammu; and Mr. Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Udhampur, along with other distinguished guests.
