Govt Degree College Vijaypur organises Lecture on Mental Health

Vijaypur, Jan 29: Govt Degree College Vijaypur organized a lecture on Mental Health Awareness under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Ashu Vashisht. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Head of the Department of Education, who shared valuable insights on the importance of mental well-being in today’s fast-paced life.
In the first technical session, Prof. Ritu Bhagat highlighted various aspects of mental health, including stress management, emotional resilience, and the role of positive thinking in maintaining a healthy mind. She emphasized the need to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encouraged students to seek support whenever needed.
Prof. Ritu Bhagat also discussed common mental health challenges faced by students such as academic stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and emotional imbalance. She emphasized the importance of self-care, positive thinking, time management, and seeking help without hesitation. The lecture also focused on identifying early signs of mental distress and adopting healthy coping strategies.
The second technical session included question-answer, queries and suggestion from both staff and the students. The event concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal (Lecturer, Dept. of Education).
